I think you will find the press has once again blew up another story into something its not. Given a knife could be classed as an offensive weapon, shouldnt we not have knives scissors or tools in the home?
Chances are she was told next time dont wave a knife because the little loves you scared off could have reported you.
If one of the little loves reported her, why werent they cautioned for trespass and prosecuted for breach of the peace, she admits she was frightened and one circumstance that occasions breach of the peace is causing fear and alarm.
