Default School kids in READING speak 150 languages!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education...-dialects.html

They found that school children in reading, Berkshire speak 150 different languages.

Is this a cause to celebrate or a total failing of "multiculturalism"?

147 of them were probably dialects of TXT spk, a World of Warcraft and a Tour of Duty speil the surveyors couldn't manage to interpret

I live in Reading always have.. my mum teaches in a school..
Most children aren't smart round here. lol.

As for a film called cemetry junction.. that is like one of the ****test area's round here lol.

In the chaotic, multi-cultural melting pot that is the Oxford Road - Eg the most likely place to get stabbed lol!

and

“But the pace and scale of immigration has caused great concern in recent years and many of my constituents feel there has been a basic lack of control. It has resulted in enormous pressure on some local schools, housing, medical and public services generally.

“There is an overwhelming feeling that it has gone too far and that the Government needs to get a grip. People whose visas expire are not promptly deported and illegals immigration is still an huge problem.”

True.

All immigrant and refugee children should be given additional accelerated lessons in English because encouraging them to continue speaking in their own language by providing an interpeter is not the way to facilitate their integration and assimilation with their peers. In addition the cost to the education authorities is astronomical and could be better utilised on such things as extra teachers, better facilities etc.

To answer your question it depends on if the 150 languages are spoken or used.......If 150 languages are actually used then the country will lose its identity.......If its just a measure of how many different nationalities there are then no problem in my view......

Sadly when I get on a bus I am lucky to hear anyone speak english.......If imigrants do not adopt the language of the host country even when they can speak it then we are indeed a divided nation that has no identity.........The outcome in coming years will I believe be catastrophic......

Well a good example is the Saints days. The Pubs are dead on St George's day here yet you can't even get to the bar on St Paddys day.
