Default Poorly computer

I am, in the words of Frank Spencer,
'having a bit of trouble'.

This Packard Bell which I bought last year, with its mega whotsits and windows XP, more power, etc etc is seriously ill.

It keeps freezing, keeps saying pages are unavailable when they are, and I got a lot of 'this program is not respondings'.

I've tried System restore,and then
I couldn't switch it off the other night and tried what it said in the troubleshooting guide (msconfig) no joy. Had to switch it off at the wall.

Then it wouldn't switch on. After much jiggling, bashing of case and expletiving I got it on, but couldn't navigate last night.

Today it's sort of OK ish, but not right. I know it's under warranty, and I need to take it in. BUT it could take ages, and I break out in a sweat at the thought of a week plus without my pc.

ANY IDEAS???????

Try going to The Zone Alarm site and download the free version and install.

It seemed to fix my system

I found this program with the help of my son in law.
I was having all sorts of problems with my PC.
It is an excellent program and shows any errors in your system and how to repair them.
The program is called pitstop.

My Packard Bell is always mucking up as well. I called up my computer help people (nice people they are ) and they told me to always download the automatic updates that the computer tells you to. I dont think it helped that my stepbrother put a screwdriver in the back of ours

Thanks for all your suggestions folks.

Sticks, it won't download yours, and jbellemeg I am still trying pitstop, but it keeps freezing and sending me back to the beginning.

I think it is going to have to go in.

I am not a fan of Win XP, its nothing but trouble when ever i use it so i just stick with Win 2K Pro, try cleaning the system up or even getting a Utilitie to fix system problems, for example i use fix it utilities 4 which does everything for me and keeps my system fine.

good luck.
