Television personality Jade Goody had to be rushed to hospital after passing out in the middle of the London marathon.

Paramedics had to spend fifty minutes trying to regulate her breathing before helping her into an ambulance, while she called out, "“I’m dying, I’m dying".

Goody admitted to fellow competitor Gordon Ramsey and BBC presenter Sue Barker that she had been consuming Chinese takeaways, curries and beer in the run-up to the race.

Afterwards she told The Sun: “I was just so exhausted I couldn’t carry on — but the doctors say I’m OK. I’m gutted I didn’t get my medal, but I’ve only got myself to blame as I did hardly any training.”

Hardly surprising - she trained for times, for half an hour, and wore tennnis shoes. She took the place of someone more deserving - 100's of people apply for the marathon but can't get a place.

She got much more media coverage for being taken to hospital than if she had finished. It looks a bit like it was a publicity stunt.
