I hope he thinks it's some sort of conspiracy that the world powers decided to come up with in order to give us some hope. That would be cool. That they planted shi$e into every telescope that we bought so we saw and believed in other planets. But nah,, that would be too cool a thought for him lol.

Even if you were right those galaxies did exist. That's the point. To illustrate the scale of the universe.

But obviously I would be a fool to say you are right for sure given your mathematically woeful grasp on astrophysics.

Words like 'probably' and 'maybe' make me lol in situations like these.

Given the woah 4732845985036342whoknowshowmany483?483205745637046 *? amount of galaxies in the cosmos, I'm sure the odds that many have survived a very, very long time is very, very possible.

Maybe, but that's only the ones that we can't see. What about the ones that can be viewed with a telescopic lense? Come on DC.

And yeah, Stu is right, they still existed. You're not really defending your first remark here.

And let's not forget, that was a very, very small chunk of the night sky. Like looking out your window and looking at a space in the stars.

On what grounds do you say that?

Would you mind citing the equation you drew up to work that one out? Just take a photo of your whiteboard for me or something. Ta.

Your making an assumption. A cosmos sized assumption.

And? That was a tiny, infinitesimal portion of the night sky. Do the math if you want.

That's true Nathan but it doesn't really disprove anything, you know?

funny story:

my physics teacher (which i hate because physics is a load of bollocking fake little theories) and he was like "the next topic we are doing is astronomy" and i was like "is that like Taurus and stuff" and he was like "what?" and then i was like "you know starsigns" and then he laughed and i realised what i had said

lol imagine a physics lesson on starsigns

Fair enough. Still though, it makes you think. I'm sure that other stars and planets have taken their place anyway, if they're gone at this stage.

Says who?

There are roughly 1.7 × 10 - to the power of eleven - galaxies in the universe. 170 billion.

ILoveDC views a few of these on a picture and blankly declares they don't exist anymore?

Wut man?

No, it is interesting, but it was just funny to hear it. That they don't exist now (maybe) doesn't mean that there's not literally hundred of thousands out there that still exist.

Edit.... millions of the feckers.

Not necassarily. Plenty of them have expired and we are seeing them through time, yeah, but plenty still exist. I don't know anybody could look at a half dozen and blankly declare they no longer exist. That's a completely naive and baseless comment.

It's a weird concept alright though. Somewhere in the universe another race could be looking at the Earth from a different point in history!
