A friend of mine from college that i am very close to has been in a very bad mood in the last 2 weeks, and at one point last week i said "WTF is your problem?".

I apologised and she then apologised for being like that, and its because in the last 2 weeks she has found out that her Mum has got cancer, and thats why she was being really down and moody.

And she just told me, and now I feel like a right prick, i dont know how to react, I feel really sad about it, and how much of a twat i sounded like last week when I had an argument with her.

She's only told me and her ex. I feel very down now because i didnt expect it and her Mum is a lovely woman.

Just apologise for being a tit and let her know you're there if she needs to speak ... otherwise just leave it for now and don't keep going on about it

Been there myself (not with my mum) with cancer and other ways and the worst thing in the world is people treating you a bit different and constantly making sure you're OK

Just pretend everythings still fine. Thats the best way to go about it

aww just say it was all in the heat of the moment,, i'm sure she's just overwhelmed by what's going on with her mom, that some kind supportive words from you could only be of good use. <3

i guess all you can do is apologize, make you and her feel better.
And let her know that youre there for her.

Yep Ive just told her and apologised to her for being such a twat. and that im always here if she wants to talk. Im trying to move the conversation to happier things because she seems to not want to talk about it, which is completely understandable.
