Default tourette\'s sufferer in bb house!

i 've just read that they are putting a tourette's sufferer in the house tonight.
i think this is a bit irresponsible of Big Brother, he will be ridiculed by the general public. its a much misunderstood illness.
anyhoo, i'm looking forward to the start tonight, ..if its anywhere near as good as the recent Celebrity BB, it'll be a treat.

Funny isnt what I'd use to describe a disorder.
Anyway, this rumour has been around a while - doubt it's true. As with all of the HM suggestions in the media.

they had tourettes camp on C4 a while ago, which was amusing in places, and pretty informative of the disorder.

I think in a purely thoughtless way it would certainly lead to more arguements in the house, making better tv, as they would be hard to live with. but I think it would be very tough on the sufferer, which would lead to an uproar.

So those people that think a tourettes sufferer should not go into the house and feel BB would be irresponsible to do so want people with tourettes to be denied the same opportunity as anyone else??? that really confuses me! why can they not be seen for the people that they really are. Yes some people will laugh (and you will find that most tourettes sufferers have a giggle themselves) but so what! why shouldnt they be able to experience of BB. At the end of the day they are just people like you and me

which we would hear/see as silence silence bird-twitter whirring camera silence which is far too annoying already, so I can't see it happening

But then, they did put Eugene in last year who was on the slightly not-so-average-side, so who knows how low they'll go; well, WE'll know later I guess...

I think it will make an interesting thing to watch to see how people with the disorder cope and how one minute they are fine and the next someone else. I think the person will have to be strong and will seem an easy target because people dont understand the full extent to the illness. Quite unprodictable aswell I can just imagine davina ..."please do not swear..." then anything can happen.

Quite a long time sunny but tbh I think its gone really fast. Its like it was yesterday where everyone is on here lol. Im doing great thanks and cant wait for it to start later, just hope they dont go ott on putting crazy people in there all at once lol. How are you doing?

I think it would also be interested seeing them in heated situations, I think they could be quite a live wire and although it would make good watching tv I think it could also single people with the disorder out as being "nutters" and alot of people will judge them wrongly.

And I dont think they'd put a tourettes sufferer in cos of the high chance of swearing on live TV which will get complaints from Ofcom. Too much bother.

Although I agree that people with an afliction be it a disability or what ever should not be discriminated against because of their disability neither should they be selected because they have a disability.

Positive discrimination is every bit as bad and wrong as negative discrimination. people should earn their right on BB based on their personality and not selected out of some sort of political correctness regime that satisfies minority or majority groups.

In an active and proactive show like BB you select those that are suited for the nature of the show. For example you would not select a man with no arms to walk a tight rope. Or would you!!!

Providing the bad language is broadcast within the broadcast code water shed advisory times then Ofcom will not be interested.

The watershed is 9pm. However Ofcom prefers the very worst language to be edited out untill later in the evening but not banned.

I think it is a shame that they are not broadcasting the BB updates at the 10pm slot as the 9pm slots will mean more censorship due to severe bad laguage or whatever.

Welcome to narrow minded control freak Great britain......

Why they worry about bad language these days beggars belief. Kids 8 years old or younger are using bad language far worse than you will hear on any BB epeisode.

The horse as bolted but still the fools at Ofcom shut the stable door.....

Fully agreed. It's too bad TV programmes have to listen to every single word Ofcom say in fear of a lawsuit.
