I have met Gordie on many occasions while a humble Fife Regional Council worker and he MP for Dunfermline. I know he hates set pieces and public events, he'd rather get off stage and have a quiet chat with real people such as me. He works best in background but is a smart socialist unlike Tony who the Parliamentary Labour Party HATED.

Scotland was traditionally how Labour swung the vote but now we're all going SNP - my area overturned a 16000 majority to return a SNP socialist - it got us SNP control in Scottish Parliament.

I totaly concur with your devolution dreams, and sincerely hope that both Scotland and Wales get their independence soon. The one good thing New Labour and Brown have done is to inspire the Scots to vote SNP, the Welsh to vote Plaid Cymru and the English to vote for any other party BUT Labour (hopefully the Conservatives). One thing is certain though, that Brown will sink back into the obscurity he so richly deserves and we English would very much appreciate it if that was north of the border.
