Well Done Tough kay.
Absolutely loving Kay Burley - she is really putting rent-a-mob spokesman in his place. As she said we voted for what we've got and we don't need people who didn't even put up candidates for the election trying to call the shots now. Loony spokesman just kept spluttering off a load of idealistic nonsense and looked like a complete idiot.

I bet squatter Brown is seething - technically still PM but without any power whatsoever. Like a rottweiler with no teeth.

Well since electoral reform is one of the cornerstones of Libdem policy, yet they only won 57 seats, that says a lot for how important the voters think that particular issue is in relation to more serious ones like controlling immigration, tackling crime, improving the economy etc. As Kay Burley said, the country has spoken, and we got what we voted for. I did not like the result the last three times, and have had to suffer under 13 years of New Labour, watching them effectively destroying this country, but that's democracy.

In terms of individual votes though the country didnt get what they voted for,

Conservatives received 10,706,647 votes that is 36.1% of all votes cast they received 47.1% of the seats.

Labour received 8,604,358 votes that is 29.0% of all votes cast they received 39.7% of the seats.

The Liberal Democrats received 6,827,938 votes that is 23.0% of all votes cast and they received only 8.8% of the seats.

Saying that though some methods of Proportional representation are even more unfair than the majoritarian system we currently we use.

Some of the protestors seem to think that the Conservatives are going to back down completely on all thier manifesto ptomises and adopt all of the Lib Dem policies.

I would prefer Conservatives to form a minority government since they won the most seats - and for Gordon Brown to be clinging onto power is despicable. However, if Cameron is forced to deal with Clegg because otherwise Clegg is too unprincipled not to do a deal with Labour just to get his foot in the door, then I can cope with a Con/Libdem alliance. Having said that, if the Con/Libdem coalition is a non starter, even the labour and libdem votes put together doesn't give them a majority, so at least two other parties would need to be on board to give an overall majority. In that case I would prefer to see another General Election as soon as possible.

I'd laugh if there was another election in 12 months and labor win it with a new pm ( ie after dumping Gordon).

If it had been Brown who had won 307 seats, he and his cohorts would be banging on the door of No. 10 right now demanding Cameron resigned immediately.

Here's an interesting video interview from the 1992 election which Labour thought they were going to win. Brown's views on what constitutes a government without a mandate are very different now that he is in the Party that has clearly been told by the country to ***** Off. What a totally dishonest, hypocrital a*sehole he is.

nah if gordon quits then clegg has to except ANY deal that the cons give him for his 50 or so seats. With the pm still in the race clegg has more bargaining power to get 2 or 3 ministries out of the cons. This will make governing impossible and lead to another election soon. Gorgon is looking at the big picture. hehe
