I doubt it's anything like brother brother, it would only have the 'Big Brother Effect' if it were liek the Truman Show.

A WHOLE village is the setting for a new Big Brother-style reality show.
City-based couples will be given homes and jobs there, with locals voting out the least popular. The winners get to keep their house.

yes but they didnt axe bb to annoy its fans though its become untenable for c4 for a lot of reasons.
a tv station doesnt get rid of its most popular tv show for no reason (which a lot of people seem to think)
c4 were ground breaking to take on bb in the first place and we should thank them for that! but they have now being bound tied gagged and fined within an inch of their lives for it and cant do it anymore which is sad.
sounds like they are taking their fight to be groundbreaking to another field and i hope it turns out to be a success bbc/itv/sky wouldnt dare take the risks c4 have done.

I might watch it but it could never replace BB. For a start it's gonna be FILMED like The Apprentice.

did anyone watch castaway on the bbc where they put several people and familys on a deserted island and left then there for 1 year to build there own community/schools/farms with livestock and crops it was brilliant apart from the fact that it turned ben fogle into a popular presenter.

What a laugh.. C4 axe BB because it didnt 'fit' them and then go do this? how is this any different?

Tbh, i probably wont bother... I only do one reality show a year (for my sanitys sake) and this new one looks too generic.

I like BB because of the paranoia and claustrophobia (sp?) and canteen politics on open show.

I can't see this getting that.

They will probably say it is more 'upmarket'. Different audience, maybe different advertisers.

I think German BB, or some other countries do something similar, creating a small village.

yup, that will probably be the rationalisation for the U turn, but to me it just looks like C4 realise they need a big reality show (and for them BB is still big) in their schedule and havent the balls to admit they have made a mistake.

sooner Endermol buy C5 the better.

Great idea, but why not keep the title as Big Brother?! And keep the presenter?
