She's Irish and that name was probably gaelic to start with. Its a part of her heritage, and where she comes from. I'm Irish too, my full name is Niall (pronounced like the river Nile) Patrick McCrohan. Even though it really pisses me off when someone mispronounces my name, I like my name because its unique and reminds that I'm Irish. I don't wanna change my name at all. Caoimhe is probably used to having her name mispronounced as well, and probably wouldn't have thought much of the tree taking the mick.
