My grandmother came from a village called Achiltibuie in Wester Ross. I haven't been there for a while but there are some white sandy beaches like this one at Achnahaird:
 more beaches Also there is a group of islands called the Summer Isles, named because of the hot summer weather that Kaz and ROB mentioned. Only one of the islands is inhabited.  Beautiful place. |
