This programme sounds very similar to the BBC programme a couple of years ago about the residents of 'something' Green in London (damn, my rotten memory! ). It was narrated by Todd Carty, and was absolutely fascinating.

I remember Mr Gilbert who had the wig shop, a young chap who worked all hours as a locksmith, and a girl who worked in her father's motorbike shop, but there were a whole host of others.

Might give this ITV show a watch.
