First of all this is a theory.
It seemed a little bit fishy when rachel kept on winning most of the hoh comps and brendon would sometimes seem to fail on perpose, but when she left he won. Maybe he let rachel win so she could finalise whos up for nominations and seem like 'the bad guy' and meanwhile he would influence her deciscions but rachel would have the bigger target on her back. Mostly during arguments she had (mostly) he kept out of them and layed low while she built a bigger target.
