It'd be impossible for me to watch live feed because I have a job that takes up a lot of my time and I have to sleep. The News is only edited highlights about what's happened in the world, but we are all able to make informed judgements about what's going on.

I don't think Dave will win, but I'm not devastated he's in the final.

Thats what has fascinated (and frightened) me more than anything else, (not just referring to Dave) ... the ability (albeit on a silly game show in this instance) to edit a situation to the degree where an entirely opposite storyline/meaning/personality etc.. is shown as what would appear to be fact!!
For quite some time now, if something serious comes up in the news, I look into the views from the other side of the conflict ... Al Jeezera News has been an education for helping to get a bit of a balanced perspective.

I understand how the news works. I understand on a professional basis the power of the written and spoken word and how it can be misinterpreted or twisted by editing. Good to see you're usuing Al Jazeera only as a balance for news because they only tell you what they want you to hear, just like everyone else. For instance, I notice there wasn't much on A Jazeera about the couple stoned to death for adultery in Afghanistan recently, or the pregnant woman lashed two hundred times and then shot in the head while the man accused with her was let off with no punishment at all. Everyone is edited. Even BB live feed is edited.

Thats exactly my point ... how many compatriots of those you have written about above, will disbelieve it ever happened because it was never shown!
The editing on BB has misrepresented some of the HMs to an appalling degree.. its frustrating beyond belief to argue a point raised through LF when courtesy of the editing on HLs it has appeared as nothing more than'harmless'.

housemate, they are all editted to a degree and storylines changed to suit the purpose of the program makers.

altho a clever edit can change things the people must have actually done the things in the first place.

I have seen dave being not too nice on LF but also seen him have a really good laugh with nearly everyone with a very wicked sense of humour that some just dont seem to get. I simply like his humorous side more. Not all LF viewers dislike Dave as much as some.
We all watch the same prog but see different things. Its the beauty of the prog and the main reason I really hope CH5 take it

Can i suggest tho, if you really want dave to be fully scrutanised that you do lend him your vote in the final so he has more of a chance of winning

I didn't see that stuff about executions on the news, and yet I know about it. I know because I read about it online and in the newspaper. It's the same with Big Brother. I don't get to see everything but I fill in the gaps by reading and hearing what other people have said.

Someone asked a question on here a while back: should be two separate forums, one for those who watch live feed and another for those who only watch the highlights. At the time I said I didn't agree because it's good to fill in the gaps by reading the conflicting opinions of those watching live feed. But there seems to be this strange apartheid appearing where live feed viewers think those who watch only the highlights are not able to form opinions because they feel they are not fully informed.

Well I DID see the executions and beheadings online (before the site was taken down). I didn't have to see them to believe that it happened and I stopped watching them because they were so SICKENING and they were being carried out by people who could well be neighbours.

Not one housemate has had a bad word to say about Dave after leaving the house,nor when in the house. He has gotten on with young and old alike, male and female..that to me says a lot more than someones point of view on a forum.
