Storm really shouldnt have done that "you havent seen the last of me" routine-anyone who says that gaurentees it's the last we've seen of them.Storm believed he had the kind of voice and charisma that would one day see him take his rightful place among rocks royalty. In the end his rightful place was with Diva Fever and Wagner. For his own sanity he must give up his futile dream of stardom. However the treatment from Cowell and others was a tad mean-you'd think it was a crime to be 38 and want to sing. Why dont they throw Mary and Wagners age in their faces to demean them.

I'm not trying to beat the guy up. He isn't hurting anyone, he just wants to entertain. There are worse people than that, and, really I don't have a problem with him being 38 and that doesn't mean much in rock'n'roll anyways. Wikipedia the ages of 20 of your favourite rock stars and Storm maybe be YOUNGER than most of them. But you are right that the problem here is not age per se or the knocks he got from Simon. Someone he has to realize it was good enough for him to make this a hobby and for what he had to work with he 'won' by getting on the biggest amateur showcase. Good! In fact, if he changed his perception and expectations he could find himself satisfied and proud of winning after all. As you are saying - if he keeps believing this is just the start and he will go onto epic stardom.... oh not good. Then he really is in trouble. He won't allow himself to be happy about this and won't be happy in the future. But hey.. no reason he can't go find one of many mediocre/good rock bands out there who are good enough to be working (to some level) and start playing some nightclubs and venues. Sure. I could see that. For the next 5 years he could quite possibly make an actual living (or at least part-time) and somewhere in there is a few good gigs. |

Nothing in excess

Although I'm not a fan, I find some of the comments made about him a bit mean-spirited. So he's a washed out, unsigned rock singer. How does that make him any worse than the other over-28's?

Maybe its because he seemed to take himself too seriously but then again I have to commend Simon for first admitting he admired a Trier and he did go up on stage and shake his hand (said something friendly). but one thing I worry about is what percentage of our population is devoting themselves to mastering singing when they would better serve society and themselves mastering... I dunno... Storm might take that dedication and 'no stop' attitude and be a good shipping officer or drug counselor? |

Storm believed his singing would somehow elevate the masses-many of the rest believe this too such as the equally deluded Katie. They think just cos they were singing at the age of two they were born to do this-that it is their destiny. No it bloody is'nt.

I heard him say that when he was young, he'd start singing and it made him stand out from the crowd.. I think singing is really important to him for that reason!

Every acts that leaves competitions like this around the world say this. I'm beginning to think it's part of the contract to spice up the show.

Just once I want to see someone show up and say something like:
"Yeah.. well i saw these programmes getting popular so i was unemployed and a few months ago started practicing in my friends garage hoping i could win some money". I'd vote for that guy ha! |

I've lost all faith in the UK music industry. They don't know how to groom and adore talent very well.
