It'll be LIVE.

Ant & Dec’s family-based quiz show is coming back in January, it has been confirmed - and this time, it will be live.

The first series attracted poor viewing figures, shedding two million after the first episode in February this year. At the time, Ant & Dec defended the show saying viewers would get used to it, whilst other’s including Graham Norton weren’t so complimentry. He told the Radio Times “Saturday night entertainment is what they do and they couldn't make that work. So it just goes to show how hard it is."
*
The first series was pre-recorded during the week of broadcast, because ITV felt it was too expensive to be broadcast live. At the time, Dec said "We did want to do it live because we love the buzz. And, of course, you're in the bar by half nine."
This time around, the lads have got their way, and the new-look show is expected to include viewer participation with a cash prize.

Producers say some games will be returning, although a host of new challenges are planned. Applications for series two are now open, so if you’re in a family of four (a mixture of immediate and extended family including individuals who can demonstrate a strong connection to that family). Each team must include at least two adults, and the youngest family member must be 16 or older, and no longer in compulsory full-time education.

Auditions will be held around the UK before Christmas, so if you and your family would like to take part then visit gallowgatetv.com.

Wasn't a big fan of this the first time round, but I thought it'd be better if it went live, so I'm glad they are. Might give it another go. Hopefully it'll be more like Saturday Night Takeaway this time, but to be honest they may as well just bring that back - it was much better.
