I know what you mean. He did assure me it wasn't just a wind up though.

LEE. That was fantastic!!! Your questions were superb. I'm still finding it hard to believe that all Brian's so called 'friends' can't be bothered to drag their arses out of bed to watch him on tv. I'm sure he'd appreciate a bit of support.

LEE that was really good and I enjoyed reading it. He is an interesting person and quite different to how we/I perceived him from the TV.

It's really good to get this chance to see the housemates outside of the very surreal environment of the show and be able to see their true personalities come through (hasn't really changed my opinion of Josh though - sorry!).

I think I also noticed one of my questions there - or at least one I asked, no doubt (because I'm not very original!) lots of other people asked it too - but it was nice to see anyway!

Well done LEE - not only for the really interesting interview but for putting it up for us.

Lee, that was so interesting, thankyou. I felt as if I'd been sitting beside you after all!

I don't know why I said my eyes were burning last night, poor old you. 'I mean' my hair actually dried whilst I read this!

Thanks for asking the James Taylor question! However, just one thing Lee, and it's driving me mad. He said four people were treated badly by the experience in his opinion. Then I can only see him mention Stuart, Amma and Penny. Who was the fourth?

It was a great interview. You evidently put him at his ease (well, OK, maybe not such a task with a 'dude' like Dean!) and allowed him to express himself thoughtfully. You didn't overtly manipulate the conversation at all, yet you kept a logical structure and progression. Bravo!

In his summation of the experience and his dumbfoundedness at Bubble's eviction, I do think Dean may be yet another housemate who overlooked the 'everyman', and strength of character in adversity' qualities that Paul brought to the house. He seems to see the principals as Brian, Bubble, and Helen (latterly and only because of her dalliance). Yet, when Bubble left, apart from shock shown by Dean, Amma and Brian I think it was positive because it allowed others to be seen and heard.

Conversely, I felt as if a big wet blanket descended upon the house when Paul left. Everyone was moving in slow time, They seemed weary and were obviously ready to leave. Brian only made spasmodic attempts to entertain (ie camera baiting) and a relatively subdued Helen did the 'lovesick but plucky' thing. Dean and Elizabeth made The Royale family look comparitively hypercharged with drive and ambition!

There you go, it was a very different experience and perspective for the people inside. Obviously I have my favourites, and we all know who I would like to be locked up in a house with for nine weeks in my fantasy world!

However, if it happened in the real world, I think Dean would be a great companion to have in there with you. As Miriam has been known to say, I like Dean, I do!

BTW, Lee, if you speak to Dean again, tell him I'll happily co-write his book with him!

Well done again, and congrats to all!

Absolutely wonderful interview, LEE - thank you SO much.

I have to say I didn't understand the connection between Dean and Bubble in the house - they seemed like total opposites to me. But, then again, after reading Dean's thoughts on how he felt the housemates were cast in different 'roles', that's probably down to clever editing. Like ROB, I think the housemates totally underestimated Paul's appeal to the general public, even discounting the burgeoning romance with Helen.

I really hope Dean's trip to Western Sahara through War on Want gets publicised, and it would be great if Brian could spare the time to go with him.

I'm really hoping that his book project comes to fruition - it sounds absolutely fascinating. Not only from the point of view of what actually happened in the BB2 house, but to find out about the conversations the housemates have had with each other about their experience afterwards.

Great pictures too, LEE - Dean's a cool dude!

Thank you once again for a fascinating interview.

At the interview here:
http://www.bigbrotherwebsite.net/deaninterview.shtml

Dean says that 3 of the 4 people he thinks were disliked were Stuart, Amma and Josh. I'm guessing that the fourth is Elizabeth.

Also I found this CD at Amazon.com. It's by Dean's previous band L-Kage:

Hmm, I sidetracked him didn't I and he never answered the question fully. I'm fairly sure the other person was Josh cos he had mentioned earlier how unfairly he'd thought Josh was treated and it had laso come up in a conversation I'd had with him right at the start before the proper interview started.

Thanks for the mention of the Deano CD James, looks interesting.

Thanks Lee for all your hard work in typing up the interview with the lovely Dean. I enjoyed it immensely. Dean brought a lot to the house and I would certainly be interested in reading his book.
