I believe stuff like this is done in papers to be put on forums to see if fans want it.
Remember we all gossiped about 2 houses last year and we wanted it. Look what happened .... we got it. This is a publicity stunt like most big brother ideas. They most likely have Ideas for BB8 to that they are spinning in the news. So they can create stuff for next year.
