Default Shelter\'s Big Brother campaign

Quote:
Shelter's 'Big Brother' campaign

Homeless charity Shelter is to use the TV show Big Brother to draw attention to the real-life threat of eviction faced by thousands of families.

The poster is part of Shelter's Million Children Campaign

Friday is eviction night for one of the housemates on the reality TV show, but Shelter says in 34,000 London homes, others face real-life homelessness.

It will launch a national advertising campaign 'Not all evictees meet Davina' - a reference to the show's host.

For every phone vote to the show, Shelter gets 3.3p.

The final night of the show attracts millions of phone votes.

'Real-life nightmare'

The publicity campaign by Shelter is part of it's "Million Children Campaign" - lobbying the government to improve bad housing for the next generation.

Adam Sampson, director of Shelter, said: "Millions of us love watching BB housemates being evicted, but the threat of eviction is a real-life nightmare for families and children all across the country.

"Living under the shadow of eviction is just one part of the grim reality of bad housing faced by more than one million children in Britain - robbing them of their health, education and future chances."

The show's host, Davina McCall, has starred in another Shelter campaign, the "red chair sit-in", an exhibition of photographs of celebrities and other people in the charity's red chair.

I was going to post about this

At least this weeks vote for Jane will do some good, but really I should have given the whole of the 50p to Shelter.

Anyone here buy the Big Issue?

How about more then 3.3p go to Shelter, as 3.3p is nothing, what about 15p or something!
