True, any time someone tells you a word gets its origin from an acronym (like Council House and Vandals, or For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, or any other examples), you can be 99.999% certain it's an urban myth. Almost no word ever emerges that way.

Just for the heck of it, I did a little looking up on "innit" and found a textbook talking about it being used in the '80s and even the '70s.

From a couple other things I just looked up, it seems to have originated in Wales back in the '60s, mostly with Asian immigrants.
