Roberto Martinez
"I know Cesc very well. He is a wonderful player and very clever, and he knows how to buy decisions off referees," Martinez said. "There is contact, but you do not know how much of that comes from Cesc looking for it, or from Gary's leg. I don't think that contact is intentional to bring Cesc down. Intentional or not there is contact it was a clear goal scoring oppurtunity.. lol Martinez.. His player didnt argue..

Rio Ferdinand on Cesc
His involvement in football was restricted to watching, but he saw something he liked during Match of the Day's coverage of United's title rivals Arsenal, who cruised to a 3-0 success against Wigan Athletic. Ferdinand tweeted: 'I swear Cesc just cut a man in half with them #silks!! Cesc is letting off here on MOTD!! Moving people like a removal man!' Talking on French TV programme Telefoot, the Arsenal Manager admitted that he is interested in the 20-year-old Belgium international. Wenger said: “He is a player that I have followed for some time, but I do not want to destabilise Lille right now. When he is available for transfer, we will see if there is the possibility to sign him. Arsenal are close to ending the much anticipated transfer speculation surrounding 17-year-old teenage sensation Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as they prepare to win the chase with a Ł10 million bid – according to a report in The Daily Mail. England’s elite clubs have been tracking the Southampton wonderkid, with reported interest from Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United. Oxlade-Chamberlain visited Arsenal’s training ground on Friday and met with manager Arsene Wenger and will sign for the Gunners following successful discussions with the club’s director on Wednesday. It is thought that only a last-minute offer from Manchester City can disrupt the move, as the teenager’s advisors will choose the club whom they believe will best help him develop. Arsenal lead the race, as they previously dealt with Southampton for Theo Walcott – who has emerged as one of the Gunners’ most promising prospects. Andrey Arshavin 'set for Chelsea transfer' as Arsenal go for youth Andrey Arshavin could be on his way to Chelsea in the summer, as Arsenal close in on deals for young stars Eden Hazard and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Ian Holloway saying he would love Adam to play for Liverpool and further his career, but wants to keep him at Blackpool for the time being. We had a Ł4 million offer rejected by them, he wants an offer starting with a 1 (so more than Ł10 million), but has said his chairman could step in and accept a lower offer.
Don't think Adam will be a Blackpool player come february. |

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will move for Eden Hazard when Lille make him available for transfer.
The French tactician is a long-term admirer of the Belgian winger and is keen to bring him to Emirates Stadium. The 20-year-old starlet has already made over 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 club and been part of the first team for over three years. However, Wenger is in no rush to get his man and with Lille riding high at the summit of the table he is against unsettling the league leaders' squad. "He's a player that I have followed for some time, but I do not want to unsettle Lille now," explained Wenger. "When he is available for transfer, we will see if there is the possibility to sign him." What a guy.

Ryan Babel will be staying at liverpool says Kenny.
Coyle: I love watching Arsenal; it's the way football should be played Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed his admiration for the way Arsenal play football and has backed Arsene Wenger’s side to end their five-year trophy hiatus. The former Burnley boss has reinvigorated the Trotters brand of football since succeeding Gary Megson at the Reebok Stadium in January last year, and Coyle suggests he is a football purist in the same vein as Arsene Wenger. Coyle believes the brand of football currently being executed by the North London Premier League side and also Barcelona, “is the way football should be played” and although he is by no means suggesting Bolton are on a par with the aforementioned vaunted sides, it is clear where his inspirations lie. Speaking about his own footballing philosophy, Coyle told the Times: “I’m not going to overburden players, “If they have deficiencies, which we all have, we will work on that. “But equally, when they go out to play, I can’t have them caught up in what they’re poor at because ultimately that makes them nervous and leads to mistakes. “They need to feel, ‘I want to go out an express myself. I’m going to put my best foot forward.’ He continued: “I love watching Arsenal. I watched them at Leeds last week and I absolutely loved every minute of it. “That, for me, is the way football should be played. I love everything about the way they play. “Arsčne Wenger and the job he has done is fantastic. “I know people always say the thing about a lack of trophies, but I’m sure they can be among the trophies this year. “Barcelona, they take that three-yard pass in the middle of a crowded pitch, which is the hardest pass in football, and are effortless at it. “For the purist in us all, it’s an unbelievable way to play football.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tips Cesc Fabregas to be future captain of Spain
Gunners boss praises his 'absolutely fantastic' skipper Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised Cesc Fabregas' leadership skills, stating his belief that the 23-year-old will one day captain his country. Wenger's comments come after Denilson last week suggested that his midfield partner wasn't a leader, but following a superb performance against Wigan at the Emirates on Saturday, the Gunners boss, who gave the Spaniard the armband when he was only 20, has hailed his captain. He told the club's official website: "His character. [He is] strong, strong mentally. And his intelligence. "He understands very quickly and he has a huge desire to win. He is ready to die to win. When a guy turns up at 16 or 17 and everybody gives him the ball, he has some natural charisma. I believe he will be an outstanding leader and he will lead the national team in Spain without any problem. "At 16, he was shy. I do not believe in being a born leader but you can see that the qualities are there or someone can develop into a leader. You learn that. Overall, one of the leaderships he has is on the football pitch - that strengthens your belief he can lead the team. "What people forget he is 23 years old. I have been 23. What he does on the football pitch at that age, as a leader, is absolutely fantastic."

Arsenal ace Robin van Persie admits Thierry Henry had a big impact during his time back with the club.
The New York Red Bulls striker worked with Arsenal's forwards, including Van Persie, during his time back at London Colney. Henry has now returned to the MLS. Van Persie said: "Last week he was at training. It was great to have him there. "He's a legend, a fantastic guy. He did a couple of sessions with us and the fitness coach. He still looks good.

Bolton Wanderers fullback Paul Robinson isn't surprised England's biggest clubs want teammate Gary Cahill.
The highly-rated England centre-back, 25, will get the chance to impress one of his suitors tonight when Chelsea head to the Reebok. And Robinson says Cahill, who is also wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool, is as good as visiting Blues captain John Terry. He said: "He is definitely in that same bracket. I believe Gary can go on to be a world-class player, whether it's at Bolton or elsewhere. "There's no doubt in my mind he'll go to a bigger and better club. no offence to Bolton. I'm expecting him to go but you can't put a timeline on it. "You see others who are bought for a lot more money and I believe if a club gets Gary for that price, I see it as a bargain."
