71 Degrees North returns for a second series.
ITV1 today announces a second series of adventure show, 71 Degrees North, set amongst the icy glaciers and snowy landscape of Scandinavia. The adrenaline-fuelled programme will once again mix spectacular experiences and pure danger with sheer entertainment and breathtaking scenery. Culminating inside the Arctic Circle, this eight-part entertainment series will transmit on ITV1 later this year. Hosted by Paddy McGuinness and supported by sports presenter Charlotte Jackson, the programme sees another 10 celebrities take on the adventure of a lifetime. They must battle it out on a journey to the North Cape, 71° North of the equator. Their destination lies at the northernmost point of mainland Europe and getting there will require every ounce of strength they have. Of hosting the show, Paddy said: “It's very flattering to be part of the ITV family. Ant n Dec get to spend time in sunny Australia, Dermot O'Leary fronts the biggest show on television & Phil and Holly enjoy a lovely day time gig by the Thames. What do I get, a month in the Arctic Circle! Let the frost, see the bite.” Charlotte added: “I am hugely excited to be a part of the new series of 71 Degrees North. It’s going to be very cold but great fun.” For the 10 new stars facing this epic challenge, they will encounter harsh conditions that will see the teams bonding for survival. Along the way, friendships will form and adventures will be had but ultimately, the celebrities are battling it out for themselves. Viewers will get to know some of Britain’s best loved stars, see how they deal with the immense pressure of arctic conditions and watch them embark on the experience of a lifetime. Only one celebrity will make it all the way to The North Cape and be crowned winner of 71 Degrees North. 71 Degrees North is made by Fever Media for ITV1. It is executive produced by David Mortimer & David Tibballs and series produced by Sandy Watson.
