Default My rant on Battle Los Angeles

Okay I just tried to watch Battle Los Angeles.
I watched first 25 minutes or so and had to turn it off.
Why?
It wasn't because the acting was bad or script or anything like this.
It was because of the constant shaky cam and extreme fast cutting.
If i sit down to watch a movie that I feel is going to be pure action and entertainment and escapism, I really don't care if there is dodgy acting or cheesy dialogue. All I care about is if the story is entertaining and the action is great.
Battle Los Angeles could have been awesome, but the director ruined it for me completely by choosing to make it in his crappy style.
It was like watching a movie on a mobile phone or some crappy youtube footage.
Why is this style of film-making becoming more and more common. Its awful.
I want to see what is happening in a movie, I want to see the action scenes.
Independence Day is a film with very similar story to Battle Los Angeles. I love that movie because I know what the fu** is going on. I can SEE it clearly.

Default Battle Los Angeles: Big Brother's Latest Big Budget Brainwasher

Yesterday we used a gift card to go and see the new "Battle: Los Angeles" flick, a psyops collaboration between Pentagon war profiteers and TinselTown CGI geeks in which a Few Good Men accompanied by a couple of forgettable kids and hotbody has-beens Hoo-Rah their way from product placement to product placement in what is no doubt the first installment of a perpetual war for our planet's most precious resource (in this script water, not oil). Aside from making millions for Hollywood movie moguls, the purpose of this propaganda piece is to reverse the American military's real-world role as a resource aggressor and, during the suspension of disbelief, imprint on the minds of the audience that sacrificing our sons and daughters if not ourselves in an endless and ever-expanding war for riches and resource control is an honorable thing to do if not a patriotic obligation.
