I expect Boyle will stick to a niche audience from now on like Stewart Lee did after the mainstream attention Jerry Springer: the Opera received caused such a shitstorm (albeit one largely manufactured by professional cunt Stephen Green of Christian Voice).
Good on him if so. He is too good for the brainless mass of dull nonentities (who will complain about any little thing) that comprise the mainstream comedy audience. They probably think Patrick Kielty and Jimmy Carr register as black comedy.
