Firstly, exhaust fumes do
most certainly cause health problems. Secondly, Obesity causes MUCH more of a strain on the NHS (I understand this particular thread concerns the USA, but I'm not in the USA...) and whereas sugary, fatty food is not taxed to the hilt, tabacco is. Tobacco tax raises around the same amount of revenue as it costs to run the NHS annually. Wonder who's going to make up the shortfall when everyonel gives up smoking?
