I feel for Hazel but it was what Jackson wanted, people may be outraged etc but it was his wish to die and IMO I don't think anyone should have made a decision for him to stay alive.

Jackson could have seeked more help and might have seen there is a way to cope had he have been more positive!

I think in stark contrast to the very stupid Jimmy's loss of memory storyline, this one with Jackson, Aaron and Hazel has been acted brilliantly.

Really first class and someone needs to get an award for this one.

I wasn't sure I was going to like her in Emmerdale but Pauline has played this part,particularly this week to perfection, brilliant acting.

I was dreading her in it and for the first couple of weeks I didn't take to her. Now I think she's brilliant in it. She fitted right in

Emmerdale aside though, she's a wonderful actress

Its annoying that Danny Miller will once again get all the recognition for this but Pauline and Marc were amazing and better in these scenes. It seems he is the golden boy, yes he is a good actor and has done some good storylines but lets face it he was outshone in this one.

Awful to think that anyone in this plight who wanted a Christian funeral,could be denied one because of Church prejudices.
I am actually surprised that Hazel indicated Jackson had left hymns and things for his funeral,(or did I get that bit wrong),as I recall in a past episode when Jackson was going on about wanting to end it all she was saying it wasn't right to end someones life before their time and he said don't go all religious on me,you know I don't go in for any of that.
I expected a humanistic funeral to be planned.

Anyway, back to Ashley it seems he is another Priest who seems to have closed his ears to the part of Christianity as to, not condemning,not judging and always forgiving.

What gets me is his own father did the same thing as I gather but he forgives him as 'she was dieing anyway'. So was Jackson, inside. He just didn't have the means to do anything about it.

I'm not saying suicide is right but in certain situations, who wants life and constant misery? Not being able to do a thing for yourself? I can't think of much worse TBH

I have to agree with you,I personally couldn't have likely done what Hazel and Aaron did in Emmerdale but I would never condemn anyone in real life for doing it.

Sadly though it highlighted in part the bigotry of the Church and moreso the fact that Priests bring their prejuduces and hang-ups into their Ministry and force their view on others that they should be helping.That is completely wrong.
