When anyone comes to our home that haven't been before, they never smell anything, they are generally very surprised to learn that we even have a Dog when he charges in the house from the garden

I certainly cannot smell dogs when I go to other peoples houses either unless they haven't house trained or cared for them properly. I do however know as soon as a cat has even been in our garden. (If our Staffie sees a cat,he runs back into the house).

I think likely all pets have some smell but it is not always a bad smell.likely some humans smell worse than pets.
I like animals though, A friend who has 3 cats that I rarely see at present until I get home, they follow her all over the house, when I go, they come and lie across my lap.My firend says I am very honoured when they do that as they don't give affection easily.

As I say it's just the way they kill that I don't like, they get so much love and attention themselves but are really cruel and inflict awful torture on the weaker things they catch and eventually kill,oh and eat some or all sometimes too.

Cats being allowed on worktops is the most god awful thing! I knew a girl who used to FEED her cat on the worktop!

Yes but do cat people wash they're hand after feeding cats, if they allow them on worksurfaces cant see that. I have my dogs but they arent allowed in when cooking or when eating it is cruel and they usually want your leftovers, I feed my dog outside the same time I have food, a pet is like another child, a lot of love and attention, a saying a dog will lay down beside its owner if he/she dies, a cat will eat you.

I agree 100% with the OP.. Cat's are nice if you want a pet that you don't have to worry about as you can basically just leave them and they'll get on with their lives. But dogs are so much more fun and so much more loyal. You can't take your cat out for a walk (unless you'z a crazy biatch) and you can't interact with it in the same way you can with a dog. I'd love to do a bit of volunteering in a kennel or RSPCA, working with the dogs and just generally taking care of them.
