The only scenario I can imagine (though feel free to offer others) where a man hires an escort purely for show (to colleagues / family / friends) is if he was in the closet and afraid of coming out of it. Obviously then they'd not be in it for sex. But I struggle to believe any others (other than the weird fetishist Lee pointed out
 ) hire escorts for company.
