Don't you just on facebook send a friend request or something, I am not on facebook but sending a friend request could prompt her to ask you who you are and at that point you are only adding friends to your facebook so she'd have no need to be upset at that.
Once you said who you were and where you knew her from, no telling where it could lead from there and even so you still would have then another friend on your facebook.
