According to the People, Endemol wanted 12 loud, attention seekers in the house - 12 Jades basically - but Channel 4 vetoed the idea.

Of course the People might just have made it up.

Thanks James, nice article. I'm extremely disappointed, if it's indeed true that C4 decided which contestants qualified to enter the house. As we have seen from this series, a nice, tranquil BB house with lots of likable people has not worked because, not surprisingly it is not entertaining.

Ok, I can sympathise that 12 'Jades' is a little over excessive, I would on the otherhand prefer 12 contestants who are either opinionated, spontaneus and powerful characters. Am I being unreasonable by asking these requirements?

And to give Jade credit she was above all entertaining in her own way, and annoying though she was, she certainly had the public talking about her and made the series worth watching just to here another 'Jadism' comment.

I don't think there could possibly be 12 Jades. The world couldn't cope without sliding into world war 3,4 and 5

I think next year if there is one after this year of the gimmicks to save BB scenario, that they will select more robust people.

I hope they don't ever select another Jon. Too many housemates were sacrificed Especially Anouska to keep him in. Now they have compounded the mistake by putting him back.

it must be really hard to choose contestants though as they would have no idea how they would all react together and if you think about it - Anouska, FEd and Sissy where all quite loud and entertaining - and we voted them out! BB can't win we are never satisfied and they are trying so hard to recreate the brilliance of BB2 but that can never be done and at the same time i believe jade was a total one off!
