Can we debate as to whether this thread is appropriate to this forum as both the topics of capital punnishment and abortion, (and I am not going to be drawn on those issues), can draw quite a lot of heat and one one forum I am a member, such topics are banned because of that.

If it get's too heated it can be locked, as it those debating have done so in a sensible manner.
