Well i wanted to join the army but asthma is stopping me.

Now i want to join the police as my 'long term job' however, there are other jobs i want to do before that like club repping, social worker, working abroad. I like writing too so something in writing would be good.

The good thing is the national curriculum makes sure that you study all of the essentials, so all of your options should be chosen based on what you are good at and what you enjoy the most. I am 35 and still not sure what my chosen career is!

I don't think there's a certain time when you "should" know what you want to do in your life - the time will come, whether 5yrs old, or 55yrs old! I don't have any clue at all about what I want to do. I've ruled out certain careers e.g. Doctor, Scientist, Vet, through picking German, Eng Lit, Geog and History. Once I finish A-Levels, I'd like to go to uni, but I'll be like "Right.... what now!?!" It's a bit daunting!

Yep I get what you're saying, although my school's being quite pushy at the moment. A Level options to an extent did make me think about it, but because I've taken such a mix, I've left quite a lot of options open. Plus it's always good to have some sort of idea, it seems like everyone I talk to does - even if they don't have a dead-set ambition, they have an idea. Which is why I know that your choice can change - you can also go through different careers - but in that case there's normally a common theme, isn't there?

That's what I need to find I guess.

Yeah, I think starting 6th form has, if this makes sense, made me realise that school will come to an end. It sounds really strange and pathetic, but I'm a bit scared about it ending, because then we'll actually have to make grown up choices, decisions and make our own lives successes for ourselves, if you understand that. I agree that once we find a theme, it'll be a lot easier, but I just don't have any direction. It's a bit daunting, I feel v. childish, lool!

Well Im going to finish school, go to college and then find my place in Media. I really want to work in it. Hopefully, if I do well with it in college, it could open up a lot of doors for me.
