Has anyone had an experience of working on a cruise ship?*
The website says it's hard work with not much time off which I am ok with. But it says I will be paid in cash, on board, at the end of every cruise. It says the wage will be commission based and shared among the whole team. Can I expect a decent wage?

..I expect you don't have to pay for much when your there so you'll probably do ok, My uncle was a barman on a cruise ship and he seemed to make a good living....what will you be doing?

My cousin works the cruise ships and she makes a fortune, she's a singer though so I think she probably gets a set wage

My friend is a Cocktail barman on a cruise ship and makes a nice amount of money. You aren't able to spend most of the money you earn due to being on the ship, but you get to see some amazing places in the world, have most of your living paid for (rent/food) and have a big sum to look forward to at the end. It is very demanding though.

I once spent 6 weeks in a dark cabin servicing the crew of a "cruise" ship. I had excellent food brought to my cabin, whenever I wanted something to eat,as much to drink alcohol wise as I could handle. All the while looking forward to seeing exotic ports of call.

The work was hard but very enjoyable. Eventually I became sick of the confines of the cabin, one night under the cover of darkness I ventured out onto deck, only to find I was on the Isle of White ferry.

The photogrsaphers get paid less than the other staff ( the tips for the waiters and cooks etc at the end is over 100$ per family) and the phtotographers get the same wage WITHOUT the tips

Force the customers to buy stuff if your wage is commission based

Nah, wage should be decent enough as long as the cruise isnt like...empty. And I doubt you would have to pay much during.

I used to work in greece and I got 500 euros per month. Which doesnt sound like much but I got everything included...meals...alcohol...accomodation. I had nothing to spend the money on really.
