I cannot wait for the clocks to go forward. It means it will get lighter, not that I'll be in the UK for the summer, but it means I'm also closer to travelling again.

Christians plonked their festivals on Pagan festivals deliberately. Christians also had a habit of building churches on sacred places. The church of St Mary Magdalene where I was born was built in 1130 on top of a Saxon church, which was built on a Roman temple, which was built on an Ancient British sacred site. Proper interesting stuff...

Ahhh didn't know all that, I guess that's the tyranny of the Church for you. It's a shame that our Pagan roots have basically been fogotten for Foreign religions and for some reason people think Christianity is British. I've been to a few stone circles and that down south, they're always interesting, and the people down there are usually ones to keep Pagan traditions alive. Although people have told me it's become sort of a trendy thing and those people are generally annoying lol

I think the people interested in Paganism and finding out about the country's religious roots are very different from the annoying "New Age" followers . The whole Pagan/Druid thing is fascinating though, the way their rituals and way of life followed the turn of the seasons and, of course, the way they were demonised and persecuted by Christians.

If I ever go back down that end I'll definitely look into it more. We went to a place beginning with A I think, it has a stone circle in the field and then a little pub next to it that was maybe called The Red Lion I think, can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was really interesting. Think it was quite near Stratford-upon-avon

Avebury? There are loads of sites like that around Wiltshire and that part of the country. Avebury is beautiful, so is Woodhenge... shame that you're not allowed to go close to the stones at Stonehenge, I mean, the stones have been standing for some time now, it's hardly likely some tourists are going to damage them.

Yes Avebury! Went all around that area and loved it. And yeah the Stonehenge thing is annoying, wasn't always like that was it?

Apparently not. You used to be able to get right up to the stones. As it belongs to the nation I don't see why we're not allowed to walk right up to it. When I take over the country I'll sort that our for us, InOne.

That's a beautiful part of the country and steeped in history.

Nice one Livia, I look forward to it. I hope I'd be invited to the knocking down of the barriers, I think we should make a massive fuss.

I think a bunch of us should knock down the barriers, then camp out there and get smashed under the stars.
