I have to admit to liking the blue bedroom.

hm, as for first impressions, I have a lust to strangle several members already, a want to slap the presenter, dying to hear the voice of God for Big Brother USA, and.. hmmm, just find the whole ident screen to be hideously 1990's.

But yes, I do agree, it could get interesting... though I don't know whether I could cope with couples having "under the sheet" meetings... that's just something I can't stand. But this is the USA, soooo.

I think I am going to get really into this, and that surprises me cos I didn't expect to.

I really like the 'x' factor idea - I'd hate it if I was one of them, but I think it makes for really interesting viewing and I'm hooked already.

I utterly LOATH the lack of Big Brother voices, the lack of control from Big Brother, the tonne of external contact... I mean, why on earth bother with no contact if the presenter can chat with the housemates leisurely?

Why bother calling it "Big Brother" is there's no anonymous voice declaring instructions, dictacting the procedure, creating the required feeling of isolation.

Afterall, the point of calling it "Big Brother" is from the Orwellian novel... ie, an anonymous all-seeing, all-controlling and all-dictacting being.

Oh, and no eviction crowd? No big eviction interview? and a presenter with totally no character or personality.

This is just atrocious.

Public have no say in anything, it's all decided internally, which takes away the whole public aspect.

I only watched the first episude yesterday, but I liked it. It reminded me more of a cross between Survivor and Big Brother rather than a true "Big Brother" show.

I liked the fact that they made a pact to vote off the ex-es first. But I bet that doesn't happen!

It's a snap judgment i know but my first impressions are the same as dustmite. I havent got to the point of saying I loath it but I would say that in spite of my winging about BB4 I much prefer BB4 by a mile and a half and a little bit more.....

Ok. here are some of my reasons I have come to a snap decision but not yet final.

The way the show is put together is truly appalling. The constant narrating sessions of the housemates while a task is still in progress. A few seconds task followed by another few seconds narrating from a housemate about the task.

Why oh why dom't they show the task without interuptions and then the mindless spouting of the housmates if they really must.

The X factor a good gimmick with explosive and reactionary consequences was ruined by telling any of the housemates in advance that it was going to happen. Almost as stupid as our BB decision makers.

The fish gut challenge was disgusting to watch. Fish gut fluid going into there mouths. Disgusting......More like the Japanese Endurance show where torture is a way of life.

The jelly challenge. What can I say but "pathetic"

The boring presenter constantly shown on screen. Aahhhgg
What happened to no contact with the outside world. BB should be heard and not seen.

The only thing i liked was that they do get the housemates working for there food right from day one. Also the bedroom picking was good in the sense of what may result for viewer entertainment...

So first impressins not good. Give me BB4 that I have so heavily criticised this year.

When the catchup phase has finished i will have another looksee to see if I feel any different.

So far so good with bb usa,I like the ex factor that really gave them all a suprise and there is plenty to keep them on their toes
they are very much in it to win it in this one much more competitive than ours.
The only thing I don't really like is the dramatic background musicI hope that will go after this weekend

First impressions - not bad, but could do better.

I dont like the lack of atmosphere on eviction night. Compare ours with the crowds and excitement with the low key leaving of the house to no sound and the walk into the studio. No comparison.

As for the houseguests - all they seem to do is whisper in little groups making alliances and talking about one another. I suppose this is due to the nomination and eviction methods.

The ex factor is a great idea. Certainly a bit more action than we got already.

Well I'm hooked already! It's a mentally interesting game and the tasks are really great, much better than ours.
