Interesting. I wonder how long this has been happening for. The raid on my mates house was like 10 years ago now and they got nothing at all. I mean, they had not much money anyway so the stuff they broke/ripped wasnt worth much but thats really not the point.

Hm...fair enough I guess. Still think they should have to tidy up though if they don't of course.

I think it's disgusting that no compensation was given. This happened through no fault of their own so why should they lose out when they had done nothing wrong? Apparently to sue the police a claim must come within a "cause of action". The main causes are:

Assault
False Imprisonment
Wrongful Arrest
Malicious Prosecution
Trespass
Trespass to Goods
Negligence
Misfeasance in Public Office
Human Rights


I suppose such a matter would come under trespass/negligence. I do not know how long the claim laws have been in place though.

Yeah they didn't cause any damage or anything so it was alright really, found it more funny than anything.
