Universal Pictures has hired a writing team for the fourth Jurassic Park film.

According to Deadline, the film's screenplay will be provided by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

Jaffa and Silver wrote the script for last year's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a successful reboot of the sci-film series that grossed over $480 million worldwide. The pair are also penning the planned sequel, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Jurassic Park 4 is being produced by Steven Spielberg and his wife Kathleen Kennedy, but Spielberg will not direct. The iconic film-maker helmed 1994's Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World.

However, he passed the director's baton to Joe Johnston for Jurassic Park III, the third and most recent instalment in the dinosaur film franchise.

The Jurassic Park films, based on a 1993 blockbuster novel by Michael Crichton, have grossed a collective $1.9 billion worldwide.

The original Jurassic Park film is to be re-released in 3D next summer. Spielberg's next film as director will be Lincoln, a biopic starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th President of the United States.

the last Planet of the Apes film was really good, so this should be better than the third...

Wonder if the place will be rebuilt for this one? be interesting to see who the cast is as well.. can't see any of the former Actors coming back it would be great if they got Jeff Goldblum on it though
