Thanks for this, bbceleb.
![]() Hadn't heard anything about it before you posted the info . . . . . . from the article it looks as though it'll be Wednesday now that we should be able to see the balloon. I'll definitely try to watch out for it . . . . . . although I think they're completely mad!!! ![]() |

Sadly, this has been postponed for a day due to he weather.
I saw the interview with the american who had made a similar baloon trip alone in 1960. The thought of jumping out of the baloon into the abyss and then calmly plunging 12 or so miles before pulling on the parachute!! Insane of course, but so brave. He lived to tell the tale and looked a hale and happy chappie. perhaps you have to do something completely insane to push back the barriers and feel you have really lived. Now, where are my slippers??? |

Most of these high altitude balloons are made in a factory in Bristol. We also have an international balloon festival each year in August. Some of the balloons are amazing because with the shapes you would never believe they get off the ground.
I went up for a balloon ride a few years ago- it was absolutely stonking (to borrow a phrase I have heard somewhere before). We even went over our house. |

If the balloon explodes, it will kill all the birds in the vicinity, therefore giving pigeon pie to the multitudes! ![]() |

I wonder if these failures are divine anger at the frivilous waste of resourses. How will this help the poor, feed the hungry, heal the sick and house the homeless.
This is a waste of money ![]() |

Sticks i think you need to lighten up, so many things now a days are a so called waste of money, such as a movie costing 185 million pounds but thats life, this was going to be an amazing adventure, do you really need to put a negative cast over it, and ruin it as per usual?
And unfortunatley its been cancelled for this year because the ballon is un repairable at the moment, i feel sorry for the man who spent two years designing and making it, he looks devastated poor man, he said he just hopes for next year |

It's so sad that the guy has spent ages working on this and then it's all gone wrong at the last minute. I hope they make it next year!
