Exactly, she's being totally emotional and irate, he's being calm and logical. There's nothing he could say or do that would make her understand that she is wrong. She's only interesting in "winning" the argument, and he's not even interested in the argument at all.

He's not done or said anything nasty towards her. he just answered the questions he was asked in the diary room, which is suppossed to be private.
