'Hollyoaks' Gemma Bissix: 'Clare Devine will be back to stay'

Hollyoaks returnee Gemma Bissix has confirmed that her character Clare Devine will be "back to stay" in the summer.

Clare turns up in the village next week and will be back on screen for a short period before departing again.



However, Bissix told Digital Spy that Clare won't be gone for long and will return as a show regular later in the year.

Bissix explained: "They gave me a good idea of her storylines straight away. Originally Clare was only going to be back for a short time, which is what you'll be seeing now - it's 'part one'! It's a bit of a teaser, because you see Clare come in for just a few weeks.

"But there are discussions going on now and [executive producer] Bryan [Kirkwood] wants to make it very public that Clare is back to stay. I'm going to be back over the summer and that'll be on a more permanent basis."



The 29-year-old has recently been appearing in a touring production of Agatha Christie play A Murder Is Announced, and she also has another theatre project lined up for May.

She added: "I'm still doing a bit of theatre at the moment, so it's a case of mixing it up and juggling schedules. It's been nice for me to do this initial stint, because it's gone really well. But you're going to see a 'part two' for Clare, without a doubt!"

Hollyoaks airs Clare's return episode on Thursday, March 28 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

The Producers have had tons of feedback about how the teen characters are not likeable and too overused and that the older characters should be used more. They seem to not get the message still!

We have not seen the last of Lynsey on screen yet as Karen Hassan filmed some flashback scenes before she finished filming, which should be shown in a couple of weeks.

Maybe Lynsey might come back as a ghost for a one off episode like what Steph did one day?

Texas Longford's life will hang in the balance in Hollyoaks next week when serial killer Silas Blissett escapes from his psychiatric hospital to kidnap her.

Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove, who plays Texas, told Inside Soap that her character is "never going to be safe again" regardless of whether Silas kills her.

"Texas opens her front door, sees Silas and thinks, 'This is it - my life is over'," the actress teased. "To see him standing there with no police restraint, knowing that he murdered her sister India, is absolutely petrifying.

"Texas has already been manipulated by Silas after going to visit him, so she has it in her head that Will is responsible for Lynsey's death."

She added: "You have to remember that Silas never originally intended to kill India [in 2010] - it was Texas he was after. She's the final piece of the puzzle for him, and then his 'work' will be complete.

"Texas has no idea that Silas has done a runner. She finds out only when he turns up at her flat and tells her that he's going to finish what he started."

Jeff Rawle recently reprised his role as Silas after sensationally bowing out from the show last November.

The Will and Ash scene tonight was good.

I think Ruby comes back, teen scenes were not too bad but it is the overuse of them that gets on my nerves.
