A Danish nursery has offered parents free childcare so that they can make time to have sex.

The kindergarten, in North Fyn, is offering two hours' free childcare on a Thursday evening in the hope of increasing the country's birthrate, reports BBC News.

Nursery worker Dorte Nyman said that around half of the families at Grasshoppers kindergarten were expected to take up the offer.

He explained: "We have 42 children in the kindergarten, and we'll be looking after 20 tonight."

However, not all parents will be using the free time for the intended purpose, with many telling Nyman that they "won't be getting any more children" from them.

The childcare session will be used to hold a party for the kids, with Nyman serving food and playing music.

The nursery wanted to draw attention to the low birth figures in Denmark and the funding cuts they were facing from the government.
