Mum didn't even get the chance to get treatment. By the time they found out she had cancer it was too late.

It was lung cancer at first, then it spread everywhere very fast. It only took a month!

the family friend of ours who died had it really bad, she was given the all clear after two years of treatments, chemo and surgery, only to be told they'd made a mistake and it had in actual fact spread to her bones and they could only offer her palliative care. She lasted about six months after that. She was in a lot of pain and it wasn't easy I guess at least your mum was spared that part V

Mum was in a lot of pain as well, despite all the drugs. I'm sorry for your family friend. It must be horrible to be given hope, then to be told it was a mistake.

I think its mainly hereditry some people are more likely to develop it than others. My nan survived breast cancer in her late 60s and is still going strong...

I truly believe you should live life to the full, have no regrets and try not to sweat the small stuff.. Someone sent me this email once and its how I want to live my life

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave
with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body,
But rather to skid in sideways,
chocolate in one hand,
wine in the other,
body thoroughly used up,
totally worn out and screaming
"WOO HOO what a ride!"

I wholeheartedly agree with this - life is to be lived and not endured.
