Fair play to the guy for going for his dream, he's done remarkably well, but in terms of what the X Factor is after, he is neither (young and) energetic (Little Mix, One Direction, Cher Lloyd, JLS, Olly Murs...) nor is he a phenomenally talented singer (Amelia Lily, Misha B, Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis...) - and with the top 7, the remaining acts fell into one of those two categories: (young and) energetic = Rylan, Union J, District 3; phenomenally talented = Ella, James, Jahmene. Chris doesn't fit into either category, making him redundant in terms of what the X Factor show wants to produce. They either want the very best singers in hopes of emulating Leona, or they want someone fun and young to emulate the likes of Olly, 1D et al. That's clearly Chris' unique selling point in this competition, and I guess that's a good thing, but personally I think he's a fawning sycophant, he seems totally fake and I can't bear to watch his performances. Hopefully he makes the final and goes on to win so that the X Factor gives itself a kick up the arse and stops putting through people like this and stops with its stupid twists. The UK is FULL of talented singers and yet we get like 3 max every year on the show, which is stupid because it cheapens the show. If they put through 12 genuinely great singers/performers, it'd have incredible ratings, we'd have exciting sing offs every week, and instead we get half a dozen ****e pub singers, manufactured groups full of clueless solo artists over ones who've been practising for years, fairly good singers with potential get pigeon holed into dressing a certain way, performing a certain way, to sabotage their attempts to win and then the sort of chosen two or so who are pretty much ass licked into the final. It was actually really satisfying to see Ella vs James in the bottom two. Both of them have been surly arseholes all series who seem to think they deserve to be there more than anyone else (rightly so too, but still, calm the egos) and it was worth it to see Tulisa's tantrum. Wish they'd stop ****ing us around and give us a good series again, it's boring being able to spot the winner before they've even had the judges houses and it's boring knowing that it'll be an acoustic version of a pre-existing song with a gospel choir for the winner's single and it's boring knowing they'll do a charity single with the same bloody concept as the winner's single. Rant over.

Couldn't agree more. And I've said it before but I'm saying it again. People are only supporting Chris to annoy people. I do not, for one minute, believe he's remotely talented. He's dated and an act like his should stay where it belongs, in a pub on karaoke night or singing into his shampoo bottle in the shower.
The sad fact is, the amount of ''support'' he's getting will probably earn him the winners crown, and that would make the entire series an utter waste of viewing.
He will croon his way through his charity song then release an album full to the brim of cheesy 80's power ballad covers and then disappear on top of the **** heap of flop X Factor Winners.
Anyone actually kidding themselves into thinking he will have a career after this is deluded. The fact is, no one is thinking that. All they are thinking is 'lets annoy everyone for another week'
I hope he does win to walk down that path, he will be a no one this time next year.
Lets hope the tradition of runners up outdoing the winner still holds true because there have been some absolutely phenomenally talented acts this year, mainly the three, Jahmene, Ella and James. It would be tragic to see them disappear over the likes of the Annoying Orange.
