Well not a lot has happened today - apart from me getting the place carpeted

I spoke to my Estate Agent this morning and he said that he has finally managed to talk to the relevant solicitor etc and he has been assured that we should exchange on Friday. I really hope he's right, but I have lost count of the number of times I have been told that we should exchange on such and such a date and then for it not to happen.

Keep those apendages crossed a little bit longer folks.

How can you feel with all those fingers crossed. Although I am finding it a little bit difficult to use my keyboard at work with my fingers crossed all the time

Do you think it works if you cross your toes instead?

Have we exchanged?

Don't be so bloody silly, of course we HAVEN'T exchanged

Current situation:

The Italian guy's mortgage references still haven't come through and we are now being told that the earliest that the Halifax expect to be issuing his mortgage offer is Tuesday which makes it impossible for us to complete on the 29th as his monies won't be available in time They are still assuring us that is is merely a paperwork problem and that there isn't an issue with the actual mortgage itself, lets just hope that this is the case (we need a finger crossing smilie lol )

There is another problem as well now, but even though it is causing an extra delay it is actually quite a good thing. It involves my vendors solicitors and some missing paperwork and therefore it means he cannot legitimately threaten to pull out any more as he is now part of the cause of the delay

We are now talking about exchanging on Thursday of next week and completing the end of following week, which puts it back into Feb. The other annoying thing about this is that it is the day before Jet and I are off to Scotland for 4 days with Mr Hadley and Mr Cox and it will all be a bit of a rush - still at least it doesn't clash completely as that would be a absolute nightmare (not that this isn't more horrendous than my worst nightmare already! ) and I know of a least one forum member that would be very disappointed if we didn't make the Dundee gig

I'm shattered as I have been up and down the country and living out of a suitcase for the last couple of weeks. Pretty soon I don't think I am going to need my new house at all cos what with decorating it even though I might not even get it, doing well over a thousand miles driving and not to mention fitting in a few gigs and bevvies along the way, I think I will have finally gone completely insane and be living permanently in a mental institution.

I have only just got back from Birmingham and I now have about 35hours at home before having to drive back up north again for the Liverpool gig and Jets birthday celebration so I think I am going to go run myself a nice bath and even though it isn't even 7 o'clock yet I'm going to go to bed!!!

I'm not even up to a quick drink in Boris's Bar first.

So sorry to hear your saga's not yet over, LEE - it would be enough to turn you to drink (if you didn't already!! ).

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! But not just about the gig . . . . . I'm really looking forward to seeing you again!

I noticed you were looking for a 'fingers crossed' smilie - here's hoping these will do the trick . . . .

Just heard that the Italian guys mortgage offer has gone out in the post today and is also getting faxed over to the solicitors NOW

This was the last thing we were waiting for so we should be able to exchange tomorrow, it might even happen today.

I think a party in Boris's Bar is called for later

Still I suppose I shouldn't be too premature, I mean it hasn't actually happened yet, and with this sale you never know!!

Well we didn't exchange today, but that was probably asking a little bit too much. We're all still hopeful for tomorrow though so keep that champagne on ice for just a little bit longer.

I hate my solicitor. I would never recommend her to anyone else, she has been useless, never does anything unless you chase her, never gets back to me or my Estate Agent or my vendors solicitor, and this morning she told my vendors solicitor that there wasn't a completion date yet and that it was still open ended even though she had spoken to me half an hour earlier and agreed we were all gunning for the 5th Feb. This got my vendor all fired up and threatening to pull out again - I have managed to calm him down though and he's not going to do anything providing we exchange this week - which please God we will.

I phoned her up and she says she never said anything of the kind and they must have got the wrong end of the stick, but I'm afraid I don't believe her as I know how useless and non commital she has been to me over the last few weeks.

When all this is over I am making a formal complaint to her boss.

I will not need my new house now as I will be in prison for murder

And laugh as she gets voted out first .... !

Another day dawns. Another day we hope to exchange

Still I'm very glad I'm not moving today anymore with all this snow about, its not too bad down here but I have just heard on the news that it is snowed up not too far from my new home, so I think it would have been a nightmare

I don't normally mind snow but was expecting a playhouse to be delivered today and they can't get nearI know I know a stupid time to decide to have a playhouse delivered
and it looks like there will be no birthday party for my little boy this weekend
