Security staff at a prominent Zoo have detained a young (ish) male on suspicion of attempted animal abduction. The chief of security - Mr C Lyons - had this to say....

" we noticed this chap loitering near the penguin enclosure for hours, he made no attempt to visit any other species during this time, and appeared fixated on the new born baby penguin, named Penelope.

At around 5 pm when the zoo was closing he was spotted wearing an outsize jacket that seemed to move as he walked. A bystander is reported to have said ' I'm sure he has a ****ing penguin under there ' and the man then made a break for the gates with Penelope waddling between his legs to try and keep up. "
