Default contraversial views, sorry if i offend anyone :-)

My controversial views on the contestants

Carole: picked because she writes negatively about celebrities. BB wants conflicts with the people in there. She admitted she has written about them and met all of them before. Is hoped that she will witness all the stuff first hand and will come out and write an explosive book about it all and up viewing figures. BB need to up the anti to top BB7. It doesn’t matter if she writes good stuff or bad. All publicity is good publicity and the book would hit the stands just about the time BB8 goes on air generating good viewing figures at a time when it could become stale after 8 yrs. Plus that would be free publicity for them.

Danielle: picked to anchor the show, a genuinely nice girl who is put in their to be a target / victim of the others. People’s nastiness only really shows up when they are nasty to someone nice. Designed to blow the stereotypical footballers wife / wag out of the water. Sleeps with her teddy. Has been made uncomfortable by the sex innuendo of both leo and ken a thoroughly nice young girl reminiscent of Helen BB2 for her ditsyness.

Jo: expected to be fiery and confrontational. Put in to shatter the illusion of a girlie pop star. Hopeful that she wouldn’t like Ian as from rival band.

Ian: put in there because it was well known in the industry that he was gay. Hopefully put in so it comes out as a scoop when found to be gay. Unfortunately for producers he outed himself before going on the show but still gave BB more mainstream publicity to sun readers. Was expected to not get on with jo but unfortunately for BB they are friends.

Shilpa: known to have servants and expected to be spoilt and arrogant. Big in her own country not big here. Put in to rough it and be knocked down a peg or two

Jermaine: put in to be ridiculed. Was hoped that he would be confronted by michael’s recent well documented problems and court case etc and expected to defend him causing huge front page publicity and gain better audience figures.

Dirk: genuine guy put in to win, someone has to be

Cleo: I haven’t a clue, can’t figure that one out at all

Ken: old, bigoted, sexist, nasty, clash of generations, slimy, eccentric at best but a thoroughly nasty rude old man. in my opinion. Could have medical onset of senility in which case it is a bit worrying he was on there in the first place. Definitely odd.. as dirk said what is fascinating about him isn’t the films that were successful it’s all the ones that were failures. Rude, and lusted after the younger girls disgusting.

Jade: famous for being stupid, nice, honest, put in to rile the others and show them that they are on a level with her. Known for speaking mind, put in for confrontation

Jackiey: as above but multiplied tenfold.

Jack: known to have cheated on Jade and hoped to have taken a shine to Danielle. BB want to see on camera the kind of bust ups that they usually have behind closed doors. It’s no secret that they often have the police called.

Leo: thinks he is a celebrity. Gripes about not being paid enough money. Says he doesn’t want to look stupid but is stupid enough or money grasping enough to sign a contract without reading it first or understanding it. Sexual innuendo upsetting for danielle. Stupid mute stuff. Climbed under table to sleep. Is short and red frizzy hair so used to talking loud to get heard and trying to make himself important. Known to be that kind of character so put in to expose him as that type of person and make him look stupid. Given enough rope to hang himself coz they knew that he would. Up himself,

Donny: put in solely coz producers knew that he had slept with Leo’s wife. Need I say more 

according to the interview he gave when he lft the house. several times apparently, making her "scream" i bet the producers knew this and were after fireworks.

I was really fond of ken until he showed his other side. I don't believe he was in character when he spoke out in the servant task I think he showed his true self, especially when liking danielle to a virgin wine and wanting a massage. It didn't sit well with me. I stand by my view of him being sexist and bigoted, people can appear to be liberal if it gets them work or there products sold. After all we live in a world of political correctniss to the point of stupidity. in BB you see the person for what they are, which is why he left in my opinion. If he had stayed all he was perceived to be and everything that he had strived hard to show himself to believe in in order to get his films on the big screen would have been turned on its head. but thats just my humble opinion for what its worth :-)

Yeah lizzy I agree with one or two things that you say, but your analysis comes across as someone who reads too many 'celeb' magazines. haha no offence

"Jade: famous for being stupid, nice, honest, put in to rile the others and show them that they are on a level with her. Known for speaking mind, put in for confrontation"

Honest.

No disrespect, but you might want to consider a change in career.

Jade's public "Pantomime Thicko" performances are as sincere as Osama Bin laden Expressing a love for Christianity.

Jade is thick, but she has learnt that mispronouncing words, getting simple general knowledge wrong and pulling stereotypical 'dumb' faces makes other thick people laugh and earns her lots of money.

You are way of trget if you think her performances are honest.

Her mum is a complete chav and is trying get a piece of the action by mimicking Jade's 'Thicko Formula' of mispronouncing words. Trouble is she does it in a really bad way. IOW she hasn't quite got the knack of making it convincing to even thick people. A complete joke really.

You're analysis of Ken is also way off the mark. To start with you completely missed Ken's biggest asset, which is that of creativity. What ken shows is typical of someone his age. And that he's lived long enuogh to stop worrying about suppressing his views to avoid social complaints. IOW he says bollocks to politcal correctness. This is a good thing. He's certainly NOT in the onset of senility. In fact he's got more 'savvy' than the whole of the goodie family. And he's definitely NOT bigoted. Ken is the sort of person who would take a bigoted person to task.

And why on earth was Jermaine" put in to be ridiculed." - If anyone was put in to be ridiculed it was Jade and her family. Jermaine was a member of one of the most talented groups on this planet. His private life ( unlike Michael ) has always been under the media's radar and IIRC has done nothing to warrent any spotlight of ridicule. His only crime s perhaps being a little sedate in the BB house.

Not controversial views at all. Amateur psychology at it's worst if you want an honest opinion. I don't wish to offend but I would hate to see someone think themselves a psychologist on the basis of your summary of the contestants.

Smeggs
Im in agreement with most of the things youve said Smeggy, but in lizzies possible defence as a psychologist, I think you are pointing out sociological issues rather than psychological issues.

I only studied psychology up to A level so Im not sure to what extent these things apply.

what is it with society that says a old fella cant lust after a pretty young lady? whats even stranger is how people are fooled by danielles innocent little girl routine, i bet she's been through half a football team before she ended up with teddy (who incedently is near enough twice her age), she thrives on male attention........its her meal ticket.

True - I've said it before, but I would bet every last penny that if Teddy Sheringham wasn't rich and famous, Danielle wouldn't look twice at him.

And as for Dirk fancying Shilpa - so what? I wouldn't turn Dirk down...he is a very attractive man and there is absolutely nothing wrong with him fancying Shilpa.

I agree with some of what the OP has said, but disagree with most of it. In fact I agree with most of what Smeggy said about the post.

And as for Carole's book, I don't think she's allowed to write about what happens her in the BB house. IIRC Germaine Greer had some similar restriction on what she could write about (and mentioned it recently on BBLB) so I'd imagine Carole is under something similar. I'd say Carole was put in cos she's an opinionated, assertive woman and the public usually hate someone like that so it makes good viewing.

And the OP wasn't sure why Chloe was in there. Both her and Dirk were the only housemates asked whether they were single or not by Davina on the first night, so I'm guessing she was put in as the possible love target for Dirk. He's gone for Shilpa now, so thats that plan out the window (although there's still plenty of time!!). Plus Chloe is a little eccentric and very extrovert which is always good TV!
