Russell isn't the only one who tries to shift on very quickly.. Dermot does aswell when Dave Gorman and Nina Wadia brought Jackiey's comments up, he first had a sort of "give her a chance" tone but then quickly moved on. I think they are realising how it's effecting the show.

To be fair to Russell, he was trying to avoid a very serious legal issue regarding a child-abuse court case. I think he was justified in skirting round the issue that time.
