Really? I think maybe you're confusing posh with British.

Like Christine Baranski can have quite a posh sounding voice which is still distinctly American, which seems to portray wealth and power.

Otherwise, I agree with you about wealthy people being stereotyped with posh accents.

Also, speaking of British in American movies, we're always the villains.

Oh I know, it just read strangely "either British or American with a posh accent", so I just put British.
