BBC radio five live are asking the question "Should Channel 4 take the show off the air?" on there morning phone in. I thought I would ask the same question here and see what people think.
Should Channel 4 take the show off the air? Could this campaign of e-mailing Ofcom and Carphone Warehouse be the end of the show? Could these people that are sending the e-mails being killing the show they love? [Don't get personal] |

You can call the show on 0500 909 693 or text them on 85058. But you might not get on they are very very busy!
It's an interesting discussion. If you can't get through add comments and join in the thread. Channel 4 have said: Quote:
There is an official press release that has been issued by Channel 4, but I haven't found it yet. |

Seems the show is being talked about on Big Brother Again. It's been talked about on the phone in the last three mornings.

Hmm, Big Brother is a reality show which holds up a mirror to ourselves and our society, and we don't always like what we see.
We can't deny that the attitudes on the show we've seen don't exist. The show has brought those things to our attention - they won't go away if the show goes away. They did make a major mistake bringing the Goodys into it though - that was a disaster waiting to happen and C4 knew what they were doing, and it has given a very bad image of what we as a society are really like. |

No I dont think it should - it has had entertainment value but I agree with other writers here that the bullying and harassment issues need to be stopped before they escalate to the point that they did in this show. Also if it is a Celebrity based show then they need to have real celebrities and I suppose that really depends on how you define that term - for me it is someone recognizable for having achieved something in their life. So Jack and Danielle do not do it for me .. as I am in Australia neither does Jo and Ian however, as with Shilpa I acknowledge they do for people in the UK or of that age group. There is no doubt Shilpa is a celebrity - even I have heard of her, as is Dirk, Cleo and Jermaine. On consideration maybe the other issue for CBB in the UK is - do they only selecet / invite UK based celebrities. Of course this may be a problem in the future - who would want to go on?

Yes but today at least they talked about us paying 18 million for Ross on BBC1, The BBC is in a mess with funding to be cut. Big Brother Topic was best on Question time last night that you can view again on the BBC internet free. |
